Main infrastructure film
From concept through to direction and edit, we managed every aspect of this production. We developed the script for Aberdeen's experts, structuring it to move between both locations and use each as a device to explore what makes them significant long-term investments.
Shooting on location in two different countries demanded real expertise. At the Afsluitdijk in the Netherlands, we were working outdoors across 32 kilometres in winter conditions. Drone work was central to capturing the full scope of the dam with the quality it deserved. In Norwich, we worked inside a working train depot, filming the fleet, the facilities and the day-to-day scale of the operation.
Throughout both shoots, we took a considered cinematic approach to the visuals — every shot was purposeful, designed to reinforce the narrative rather than simply document what was in front of us. We used Aberdeen's experts to guide the audience through each environment and demonstrate what their investments deliver on the ground. For the more technical aspects of their portfolio, we built animations to add another layer of clarity to the narrative.

Sameer Amin:
This is the Afsluitdijk.
An iconic piece of road and dam infrastructure, helping to protect the Netherlands from the impact of climate change.
It’s being renovated and reinforced by the Levvel consortium, with Aberdeen Investments its major shareholder.
The consortium raised approximately €800 million from private financiers.
Engineering like this underpins modern economies. Powering transport, water, energy and the networks that connect people and business.
That same focus on reliability carries through to how people move.
Dominic Helmsley:
Here in Norwich, rail is a vital part of daily life.
Electric passenger trains such as these, support regional connectivity, helping people travel efficiently and reducing carbon emissions.
Transport is both a mainstay and a megatrend, evolving in a world increasingly being shaped by urbanisation, decarbonisation and digitalisation.
It’s a key focus for Aberdeen Investments, with initiatives spanning roads, ports, airports and rail, including Greater Anglia.
Since 2016 we have invested over £2.5 billion in new passenger rolling stock here in the UK.
That’s approximately 1,500 new carriages operating on the UK network.
Sameer Amin:
At Aberdeen Investments, we have a track record in infrastructure spanning more than 25 years.
We currently manage approximately £13 billion of assets, supported by over 70 dedicated professionals.
Dominic Helmsley:
We offer a comprehensive range of strategies. In infrastructure debt, we finance projects that seek high-quality, uncorrelated cash flows.
Our portfolio, led by Alex Campbell, is diversified across 11 countries.
Sameer Amin:
Within our concession portfolio, we manage more than 100 assets globally, focusing on social mobility, the energy transition and critical public services.
Dominic Helmsley:
Our economic infrastructure strategy targets lower-mid market assets in Europe across three key sectors, energy, digital and transport.
Our unique strategy is focused on primary deal flow and long-term partnerships.
We also offer exposure to listed equities through our Global Infrastructure Equity Strategy, managed by Josh Duitz, and drawing on global equity insights to invest in 50 to 70 high-conviction stocks.
Sameer Amin:
Aberdeen infrastructure capabilities allow asset owners like pension funds and insurers the potential to achieve attractive risk-adjusted returns.
Dominic Helmsley:
And by providing essential services that transform lives and support economic growth, we can help shape a more sustainable future.

Case study films
We produced individual case study films for the Afsluitdijk dam and the Greater Anglia train fleet, giving Aberdeen standalone content that could work independently of the main film. Each takes a deeper look at the infrastructure itself — exploring the backstory, developments and real-world impact of Aberdeen's investment in more detail.

Every day, these trains bridge gaps, between cities and between communities.
In 2016, Aberdeen Investments partnered with Rock Rail to deliver modern, electric and bi-mode trains for Greater Anglia.
Maintained in this depot, they provide key regional links for business and tourism, connecting Norwich with London and Stansted Airport.
Since entering service they have delivered exactly what investors look for, strong performance, high reliability, market-leading passenger satisfaction and yield from day one.
These trains also drive sustainability. In 2024 alone, they saved around 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions compared with the fleet they replaced.
And their design has redefined what it means to bridge the gap. Low floors and retractable steps remove the need for ramps and set a new standard for accessible rail travel.
This is industry-leading transport infrastructure, delivering a more inclusive, sustainable rail network for the future.

Here in the Netherlands, where the Wadden Sea meets the IJsselmeer, water is a force in constant motion.
For nearly a century, the Afsluitdijk dam has controlled that movement, regulating flows and protecting land from tides and extreme weather.
As climate challenges escalate, the system must adapt.
Aberdeen Investments has partnered with Levvel, investing to reinforce and upgrade this vital infrastructure.
The consortium forms part of our broader concessions portfolio, designed to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns for long-term capital.
Across 32 kilometres, concrete blocks are strengthening the seaward side.
Flood gates, pumps and discharge sluices are being modernised to manage water levels.
The energy used will be generated in sustainable manner, using solar power on and around the Afsluitdijk, all while a renewed highway keeps people and goods moving.
Natural movement is being restored, too, with a fish migration river enabling passage between salt and fresh water, preserving both systems.
This is infrastructure in motion. Demonstrating the power of public ambition with private investment, working together for the future.
